WELCOME TO FOWLER, NY

The Town of Fowler began in 1816 and named for Theodosius Fowler (1753 -1841) a local landowner and a captain in the American Revolution.

Fowler is located in southwest St. Lawrence County and borders the towns of Rossie, Gouverneur, Hermon, Edwards, Pitcairn, and Antwerp.

The Oswegatchie River's main and west branches flow through Fowler with scenic portages at the . The town is a beautiful setting for the Gouverneur Country Club and is home to Sylvia Lake and its community.

St. Lawrence County includes the St. Lawrence River and the Adirondack Mountains in Northern New York.

The area is rich in history and features abundant outdoor recreation. The county has a tradition of agriculture and a reputation for excellence in education. The county is now comprised of 32 towns, 1 city, and 13 villages.

Today is

Town Clerk and Tax Collector, Sherrie Williams will retire on November 18, 2014. Husband, Gary Williams, Highway Superintendent, also retired this month.

The Town of Fowler citizens wish both Sherrie and Gary the very best, and thank them for their years of service.
