The Town of Fowler was formed in 1816 and named for Theodosius Fowler (1753-1841) a local landowner and a captain in the American Revolution.

Fowler is located in southwest St. Lawrence County and borders the towns of Rossie, Gouverneur, Hermon, Edwards, Pitcairn, and Antwerp.

The Oswegatchie River's main and west branches flow through Fowler. The town is a beautiful setting for the Gouverneur Country Club and is home to the Sylvia Lake community.

St. Lawrence County includes the St. Lawrence River and the Adirondack Mountains in Northern New York. The area is rich in history and features abundant outdoor recreation. The county has a tradition of agriculture and a reputation for excellence in education.

If you live or work here, or are considering relocating to this beautiful area, we know you will also find the county website interesting and useful. Visit the county's website.
